Steps To Renew NHIS Membership On Phone
The shortcode used to perform this action is available to all networks in the country. Whether it being MTN, Vodafone, Airteltigo etc..
1. Dial *929#
2. Select 2, which says renew membership
3. Select the type of card. Which is NHIS card or Ghana card
4. Now if you select NHIS card, enter your NHIS membership number twice to confirm.
And if you have linked your NHIS to your Ghana card, you'll have to type in your Ghana card number to confirm as well.
5. Your registered name will appear if typed in correctly. And the amount you're to pay will also popup on your screen
6. You'll then have to enter your e-wallet (momo, v-cash) pin to confirm payment.
After payment, if the date of renewal is more than three months from your date of expiry, you'll have to wait for a month before you can use your card. If not, you can use your card right away after renewal.
Sometimes, cards renewed deliberately on phone will need to be activated. And to do that, you'll have to visit the nearest district office to get that done for free. You can follow the below procedures to check your membership eligibility after renewal.
